The hats embody Spencer’s memory of growing up playing baseball in suburban America. The destruction of these hats represents the destruction of that paradise—a paradise of childhood, of the American Dream, and of the bliss of innocence.
Each piece is treated as a handmade artwork. Because of this, each piece is not manufactured. Each piece also will has the markings of the artists hands and blemishes.
